New poem just dropped...

I just published a new poem in the Poets of Phoenixville's first zine, bad faith! It's about being a lapsed Catholic. It's an incredible experience to be a part of such a vibrant artistic community and I am so grateful to Alyx's hard work putting this zine together. a concrete poem in the shape of a snake

Poem in plain text:
religion goes about the same way relationships do with bruised knees and broken hearts and broken promises or so I've heard I haven't dated anyone since I broke with the church I'm always one sip of wine away from communion that's not really true though I don't drink I wish I were better at being a whore now that I've given up any aspirations of being madonna I'm such a fucking bore I've got bad habits like wearing black everyday and staying indoors but hey even jesus needed a 3 day weekend I ate my pound of apple flesh and I'm still not naked I've still got skin to shed girls are not meant to be cloistered behind stone walls and white dresses GIRLS ARE MEANT TO UNFURL INTO GODS am i getting closer to godliness if i feel like ending the world? sometimes I think I could and then I see the lilies bloom and though they bend and weep their bells sing and so do I I AM NO VIRGIN MOTHER BUT I CARRY THE WEIGHT OF GOD IF YOU FEEL YOUR EGO DYING IT'S BECAUSE YOU ARE ALIVE i'm not afraid of dying anymore because the priests will resurrect me when they want someone to blame and I'll be reborn as a sharp tongue with no body that screams DOES IT KILL YOU THAT YOU NEED ME?
